What are the Goals of the Global PBS Coalition?

The steering group created some initial goals to get the coalition started but expect those joining to help guide the values and vision of this group. The next few meetings starting in February 2026 will be used to talk about the goals and activities that are important to those attending.

Once the initial assessment of interests of those attending meetings and/or sharing their thoughts by email are complete, a long-term planning event will be held to bring together the information learned and map out the vision and a “backward plan” for the coalition. A “Backward Plan” is used to decide what a group wants to accomplish over 3 years and then create benchmarks for what needs to be achieved in two years, one year, and immediate next steps.

Do you work mostly in your own country and are wondering whether you should join the Global Community?

The Global PBS Coalition is focused on sharing a common language and learning from each other across the world. However, one goal of the coalition is to create a way for you to network with people and organizations in your own country as well. An important reason to join the Global PBS Coalition is that it can help you find other PBS implementers in your area.

Are you wondering how the Global PBS Coalition will work across different types of populations, ages, and settings?

A first step is to learn more about who is interested in collaborating on topics and events. Individuals who are interested in schools or other settings can form smaller subgroups to work on activities that are specific to your area of interest.
