Our Structure

The Global PBS Coalition operates through three key interconnected components: a Steering Committee providing strategic direction and oversight, an International Leadership Collective providing international direction and oversight, and a broad Global Community fostering widespread engagement and knowledge sharing.

The Steering Committee is the guiding body of the Global PBS Coalition, responsible for strategic decision-making, overall management, and ensuring the coalition effectively pursues its mission and vision. This group sets the direction for initiatives, oversees the activities of the Global Community and any working group, and represents the coalition in international forums.

The Steering Committee comprises individuals with national and international influence within their specific areas of positive behavior support research and practices. Collectively, these individuals bring extensive expertise, established partnerships, and a deep commitment to advancing the field globally.

The International Leadership Collective will be established as an expert advisory and leadership group consisting of leaders in PBS research, practice, policy, and family members and people with lived and living experience of disability and PBS. It supports the Global PBS Coalition in fulfilling its mission through leadership across countries and jurisdictions, international collaboration, and applied research-practice exchange. While the Steering Committee provides overall strategic governance, the International Leadership Collective contributes global expertise, representing and advancing Global PBS Coalition priorities within their respective countries.

The Global Community serves as an international platform to connect individuals and organizations interested in positive behavior support worldwide. It aims to facilitate the dissemination of information regarding global positive behavior support initiatives, research advancements, and relevant opportunities and networking. It provides avenues for interested parties to engage with the Global PBS Coalition and participate in future activities and collaborations at they develop.
